Howcome men are funnier than women?

I admit that there are funny women out there, but you will meet 10 funny men before you meet one funny women.

Your thoughts please.

It's not that men are funnier, it's just easier to laugh AT them.

I think it's a cultural thing. In 99% of families women are invisible, they say nothing much, as they're too busy doing the dishes, while daddy won't shut his trap relaxing on the couch, or he disappears behind a paper.

So, little girls grow up thinking that all they have to do is look pretty and be busy clearing after the boys, let the man do the talk. Women have just barely started coming out in most fields, from sports to comedy, it will need time for women to realize that there is more in themselves than eyelashes.

Also, being funny means having a certain presence, a self-assurance and self-mockery, and if you're too pressed into being beautiful you can hardly make faces.
Daddy wouldn't approve.

Being funny is really being able to admit your mistakes out loud and being able to look on the brighter side of them. Most women are afraid to become the "dumb blonde" or the " happy magic marker" of the group. We are raised to be intelligent and respectful and "perfect". Most men are not so apprehensive to what people think. And what man doesn't want to be Kramer or Homer Simpson?? I am actually one of the funnier women out there. I tend to have diarreah of the mouth and what i have called inappropriate laughter. When i become extremely nervous, such as at a funeral or church or when i get into trouble i just start this deep laughter that will not stop!! I just cant help it. It is funny to watch and it is so embarrassing. I am like Elaine on Seinfeld or something. Anyways, we funny women are out there, you just have to bring us out of our shells. Women like us are also generally not your typical size 2, model, perfect body/teeth, woman. We are beautiful goddesses with wonderful smiles, rosey cheeks, and great buns full of sass.

I'm not sure. Most women I know think I'm a joke.

It might be that men tend to be more logical than women.

Women tend to be more sensitive than men.

So, when we try to be logical when they're sensitive, all hell breaks loose and all we can do to make us feel better is to joke about it.

Then we get to remove the foot from our mouth.

Later, when were reflecting on just what it was that we did and
stll can't figure it out, we tell other people and they find it amusing.

Jokes are funny because of the working out and men tend to have the logical mindset to allow them to get even complex jokes.
Personally I find female comics are much more likly to make jokes about being women whereas male comics do make male jokes but are more likly to do surrelist hummor like armando innuanchi

I see not one person answered the question, but waxed ideologically. This is the social science section.

Men are evolved to compete for females. Both sexes want kind, intelligent partners most of all, Then, secondarily, women want man of status and resource ( or there potential ), while men want youth and beauty. So, as a proxy move indicating intelligence, men wax wittily, or so they think. Females pick up on this well, so then judging men on intelligence and potential ( a proximate mechanism in the modern world ) Men, on the other hand, are still most interested in the youth and beauty. The number one reason to mate, kindness and intelligence, is almost conflated with the number two reason, youth and beauty. This is on average, under a normal curve of distribution and is meant to be descriptive ( theory in human behavior ecology ) not prescriptive. ( disclaimer needed for social science types )

Maybe the difference is what some people perceive as funny...it is subjective, ya know. I just glanced at some of your questions, which apparently are supposed to be "jokes"...not funny in the least, but I'm sure you think you're hilarious. Maybe the ten to one funny men have your juvenile sense of humor...and most of the women you meet have a sense of humor above that of a third grader.

I think it is because guys are just big clowns and are like little boys. I think it's also because we are just goofs and just say crazy **** without any care or regard. It might have to do with relating, since us guys can share common thoughts upon women, sports, relationships, etc. There always seems to be something we can relate to; therefore, being really funny.

That's what happens when I watch male comedians, especially the good ones, who say funny **** that guys can relate to. Women's humor just is different. I don't know what it is, it might be the relating factor, or just the way they do humor. Even with female comedians that are as crude as guys have a different style or approach with their humor.

I've actually thought about this. It seems when a girl says something, it's funny. When a guy says it, it's oh so much funnier. And this is coming from a girl. I'm not sure why. So... I don't know why I'm saying this.

Sorry i beg to differ on subject most men are too MACHO to be FUNNY always trying to show off women like to see the funny side not the MACHO side
