Mostly, make sure you talk about it with your doctor.
Exercise definitely helps if you can do that. You should also not let the anxiety change the way your behave. If you have something to do, make up your mind to do it anyway and realize that although you are anxious, that anxiety does not have to control your life. You can feel anxious yet still make it through your day normally.
Again, though, you should talk to your doctor because therapy or medication can help you feel a lot better.

Understanding it is most important, http://www.socialanxietyinstitute.org/ds...
and maybe very gently offering the following information:
Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/cognitive_b... worked best for me. I suffered from social anxiety for over 15 years. I've tried meds, individual therapy, and group therapy and studied psychology for 10 years, as a profession, but also with the hope to cure myself.
Depending on your comfort level, you could go to a psychologist that practices CBT and specializes in anxiety disorders, seek a group therapy, or create one. Usually those that do attend the group therapy are a bit more high functioning because as you know, it can be difficult to speak in a group.
Another idea is to see if there are any local research studies being conducted that you could participate in.
The program that finally worked the best for me is this one: http://www.socialanxiety.us/findinghelp.... and I was lucky enough to have a structured behavioral group to go along with it. Sometimes the people that actually attend this program come back home and form groups.
Any questions, let me know ... I can't tell you how much this has improved my life!

i had horrible anxiety for the longest time.
i always felt like i had to be somewhere, and i could never get there fast enough. everything felt just rushed and stressful.
i then tried a health supplement drink that has a lot of antioxidants in it. you take 1-2 ounces in the morning and 1-2 at night. after a bottle, i noticed that it has seemed to mellow me out a lot.
try getting a better diet, more vitamins, etc. but if you are interested in the supplement i am using, i found it at www.healthybio.com

There are many misdiagnoses, and mine cost my son and I ten years...
Too many mental health people fail to sned people for biological screening, and we suffer so...
And if that ain't it, at least you're on your way!
A psychiatrist saved my physical life, and that is the only kind of professional I would trust for anyone else!
