Well, you have a few options.
There are some beginner software packages out there that you can use.
One such software package is called Microsoft PictureIt. It will allow you to take a picture and crop out a part of a picture. Its quite easy, and I believe it also interacts with Digital Cameras so you could download directly to the software from your Cam.

adobe photoshop is the best, but also the most expensive
TheGimp ( http://www.gimp.org/ ) is free but complex
I use Photofiltre ( http://photofiltre.free.fr/frames_en.htm ), it's free and easier.
1. open both pictures
2. use magic wand tool ( looks like one) and click on parts of the photo you want to remove, you may need to adjust the tolerance or click the color checkbox to get it right.
3. once the whole background is removed (the same color), you click on magic wand and select the background. now go to the Selection menu and click Invert. now the image part you want is selected. copy it ( CTRL+C) and paste it in the other image. (sometimes you may need to create a new image if the pasting won't work).
4 paste it in the new one with CTRL+V right click on the pasted image and adjust the paste options, change transparency and stuff.
5. done. save it as a new image

The basic Mspaint in Windows, But this one requires a bit of patience to do this.

microsoft image its stndard on a lot of pcsits on both my gateways ms will probley download it for you i put our cats head on my wife had to take her out to dinner
