I'll start by saying i'm not a sex offender, but I think that these license plates are going to accomplish little other than getting people beaten or killed. Why don't they just make them wear a target on their shirt?

If someone shouldn't be in society they should be in jail.... I don't think we should put people at additional risk. Monitoring them more closely would be a safer method.

One other note that you should consider is that the definition of "sex offender" is fairly broad. There is a big difference between an 18 and 15 year old dating (unlawful sexual conduct wiht a minor) and a violent rapist or pedophile (who should be in jail for a LONG time).

I think for a high level sex offender, fine, but my friend had to register as a sex offender for streaking a football game in high-school.

For all audiences its is not a very attractive embellishment, you know.
Well, it is a hell of public show off !!!
Let's try it. The danger resides on the sexual fetish behind this, for certain audiences. I know some guys which will die for this little plates (it must be little, isn't it ?)

i'm against it. something else to make money(the ohio DUI tags are over $300). if a sexual predator is going after a child and has those plates, wouldn't he just borrow a car or steal someone elses plates. it is not a solution. i agree if they can't or won't control themselves jail them. i agree with your last statement about teen lovers too.

This answer will surely bring me some flak, but what the heck,,I think we should go one step further, If they were charged and found guilty of a sex offense, they should have no driving rights. That way they wouldn't be able to cruise the school grounds and shopping malls to find another victim.

I'm all for sex offenders making license plates in prison. Because that's exactly where they belong.
