Okay- not trying to offend anyone, but some people ask the DUMBEST questions. Why do people ask these questions that they can easily reaserch and look up. I understand opinion questions a little, but don't you have friends and family or ANY life away from the computer? Sometimes the questions that you can't really tell anyone, like pregnancly or something you're too shy to ask about or whatever are understandable- but come on- "where do you find good recepies online" (etc.) is something that can be easily Googled. I asked some questions before, but i'm just realizing that some of these things are just stupid. Why do peole just ask dumb questions?

besides, researching is faster than waiting for THREE days to get all the answers.

Even though they can research an answer, sometimes they have a different opinion about something and want to know if others feel like they do.
EXAMPLE:
I know that there is a lot of hype about pets these days. There is all sorts of stuff you can buy for them, dress them up, etc. Magazines and many articles tell me it's okay and they encourage people to be more "connected" to their pets. (I've done my research) Well, I throw my dogs birthday parties and wanted to know what society really thought. So I asked! At least half thought I was out of my cotton pickin' mind!

So to answer your question, I think it's all about wanting to know if there are any others that feel the way they do.

I know what you mean. The other day someone wanted to know the birthday of Tony Bennet. All the person has to do is go to Tony Bennett.com. It's 8/3/26. I don't get these people, either. I only ask things when I can't find it anywhere else like when I wanted to know about Charles Manson, Jr.

Many of the questions on here are the result of either
1) Laziness -- not willing to put any effort into finding their answer
2) Soapboxing -- wanting to ask a "question" only in order to make a point and not out of any desire to understand anything better

First, they are lazy to do research. Asking people is a lot more faster than doing research. Even they asked dumb question, at least they are curious to know.

You could have researched answers for this question. I typed in "people asking dumb questions" in the Y!A search for questions box and voila. One of several just like it:

They don't want a research answer, they want another persons opinion. That's what this site is for, to share ideas and opinions.
