Range is how low and how high your voice can get. The greater the range, the better.
Pitch is the actual tune of the music. When Randy says the song rendered was pitchy, he means the singer did not hit the notes quite right, it may be a little "flat" ( a half note below the pitch) or a little "sharp" ( a half note above the pitch.
But you know, sometimes Randy doesn't hear too well, either, so it is a matter of opinion!

Very general now. Musical notes (egbdf, etc.) are on a system called a scale. Going up or down a scale is called an octave. Your "range" is how many of those octaves you can handle without ruining the note or your voice.
A link to describe pitch is below.

range is the notes they can sing between, for example, first b in bass clef and a high a, they may be called sopranos. Pitch is say the notes are c,b,a and the person sings, c,bflat, a sharp, it just wouldnt sound right, sorry this is the best I could do.

range is how high and low you can sing, to be on pitch is to hit the right notes in the right key, flat is when you are below the note (most of the time just a little bit) sharp is when you are slightly above the note you are supposed to hit.
