You could spin, swim, get low and push with your legs. YOu need to keep your back straight with bent legs. Then fly up right under his pads and knock him over but dont grab. ALso if you are a tackle you are mostly a run stuffer so you dont necessairily need leverage you just gotta get the o line off you and plug up holes

Most pro coaches teach you to keep your arms up when you engage the OL. They have a saying, if you are looking in the offensive lineman's eyes, and you can't see your hands, you are going to lose the battle.

You want to get under his pads, and force him to one foot or the other. He wants to plant his cleats and dig in. If he does that, you are doomed for that play. At the highest levels, though, you have to remember that the game is four quarters. Things you do early can set up things you want to do late.

I played wide receiver. I might spend half the game giving the DB a double move before breaking off my route. Later, when I just broke off the route, he wasn't ready for it, and I was able to get wide open. That's what I mean by setting things up.

It comes down to being smarter. The smarter you are, the more likely it is that you will keep your opponent guessing.

The best way to get leverage is to be the fastest of the ball when it is snaped.Get a strong stance, get your arms up under his sholder pads and drive your feet.
