Teens have always been very into their cars. Being able to drive is one of their first truly independent activities. These days many parents are providing cars to their children that are totally inappropriate (mustangs, BMW's). Providing your child with a fast and flashy car doesn't help them to learn anything except that Mommy & Daddy will buy them stuff! I would suggest that an appropriate car is one that is clean and average (not beat up and ugly). I believe one of the best choices is a Honda Civic. The simply reason is that it will run forever with very basic maintenance and they don't have the horse power to get them into to much trouble. The Honda is also cheap to run as it gets great gas mileage and is one of the least expensive cars to insure.

There are a lot of good cars out there for a teen driver. I wouldn't go for a Chrysler Pacifica. I would more along the line of getting a honda civic. The reason I say this is because the Honda Civic has one of the best crash test ratings and the pacifica didn't really do to well. The gas mileage one the civic is also excellent. The Pacifica isn't to bad, but the M.P.G. is, at its base vehicle, 18 city/ 25 Hwy. I would look for a vehicle see what the gas mileage, crash test rating, and how low the insurance will be.

A 1990 Chevy Nova. HA! Just kidding. Something affordable and for a teen. Nothing flashy and too expensive. I'm still driving my 1996 Toyota 4Runner. I don't have any car payments and never did. My insurance is low and the truck is low maintenance. But, a Honda, Maxima or a Camry would be a great fit. Stay away from brand new cars. Look in the 1996-2002 range.
Happy Shopping!

My first car which was in 2001 was a 95 s-10 pickup truck. I honestly think it was a great first vehicle because I could only bring one person with me anywhere I went. It cuts down on a lot of extra distractions when you don't have 4 other people in your car.

one with no payments, teens can't afford payments or insurance
one that doesn't use gas. kids have no money for gas
one that doesn't have a radio or a CD player, no one around the car could hear a freight train from 1/2 a mile
and last but not least~~~~
one that doesn't run. all of us pedestrians would rather deal with a grown person on a cell phone than a kid singing along to his favorite song, talking on a phone and laughing with 4 or 5 friends in the car!!!

Do you advise the BBC version of Sherlock (That sequence is so surprising by potential of how) or the unique? If the unique, then probable he does not own a vehicle, because of the fact they had in basic terms fairly been presented into mainstream utilization whilst the Sherlock memories have been set. in case you advise the BBC Sherlock, then likely something black, perchance a Roll-Royce or Daimler or yet another British type.

I would recommend something basic, but nice and fun--like a Volkswagen. A Jetta or a Passat might be nice. Also, I have been in a new Honda Accord that a teen owns. It looked nice.

Kind of car? Small car. Maybe a new one(let them pay for it) and they will be more paranoid about keeping it up. That way they learn to respect the other drivers (and think for them too) to avoid accidents.

A new or late model Honda Civic DX or LX. It is reliable, safe, fuel efficient, and reasonably affordable. It has enough power to be safe but ot so much to encourage speeding.
