My architect choose Nutone for our house b/c it looks clean white and it's venting through the side. But people are telling me that Panasonic is the best one in market.
Pricewise they are about the same and you can get them cheap at wwww.westsidewholesales.com And if you are in L.A. area, you can do the store pick up.

Noise level:
Panasonia = 0.8 sones
Nutone = 0.9 sones

what I would check out, now you know they are equal in CFM... is the noise rating (quiet)... you might find this at home depot... they usually have a display with that info or one of their websites... cause quiet is nice!!!

A totally silent bathroom fan is not necessarily desirable, even though fan manufacturers would like for you to believe so.
When you are having a "bad day" on the toilet, a fan that masks obnoxious sounds can be a very good thing, especially if your new girlfriend is in the room next to you.
Just something to think about....

i work for company who sells Broan fans (same company as Nutone) typically on bathroom fans the motor is going to die and need replacing, i get people coming in all the time trying to replace just the motor.....obviously easier than replacing the whole fan housing.... wherever you decide to buy it, go for the one that has replacement parts available... that would save you time in the future for any maintenance needs on it
