Is it better to fail at something great or to succeed at nothing? After all, trying is the first step toward failure, right? Well, regardless, I see things a bit differently. Paranoia is fear to the extreme. It is fear that paralyzes our daily activities and hinders our already dysfunctional society. Fear serves a biological purpose but paranoia is much like a disease: a good thing that went too far.
I'm not claiming there is no basis for paranoia. In fact, it is more documented than fear in psychological journals. But that doesn't mean it's a good thing.
What you mentioned--it only takes being right once--is a form of self-fulfilled prophecy. You use your paranoia to instill more and that can also be dangerous.

Yeah, I know hte feeling.
But that ONE time really is coincidence.
If you got the statistics together, and tested for 95%, you might just find that some people are right more often than chance.
But first you gotta be sane enough to know hte difference between paranoia and chance!

Well, sure, it's good to be paranoid about things that immediately threaten your health, like making sure no cars are coming when you cross the street. But, in my opinion at least, it is NOT a healthy behavior to obsessively give your teenager drug tests, for example.

I say, don't be paranoid, be practical. Be aware of your surroundings and don't ignore those feelings you get in your gut. There IS a difference.

if you live to be 99 years old, why would you want to waste all of those 99 years worrying about something that you can't change, you might be able to delay it, but How can you not accept life as a the gift of NOW and tomorrow wil take care of itself.
