I imagine it's mostly Bush supporters who can afford beach front property, It will be true justice when Bush's policies leave them ,in some cases, with only one usable home, good thing they all got yachts with their tax cuts.

Wow. A few inches over the next 100 years. I'm excited. Yeah. To think, it's only taken Mother Nature 18,000 years to crawl out of the last Ice Age....yippee.

Edit: Devil Dogg's argument guarantee's he's a Christian, right?

Here's the thing:
If the people that believe global warming is fact are actually wrong... then there's no harm.
If the people that believe global warming is fiction are actually wrong... then there's a global catastrophe.
Considering that the majority of recommended changes to reduce or reverse global warming/cooling (which are the same thing, by the way, if you take the time to read the research) will actually benefit our national & global economy in the long run, one has to wonder why there is so much resistence to the scientific evidence (which doesn't PROVE the global warming theory, but certainly provides strong evidence to SUPPORT the theory.)
The energy business means big money for the powerful elite, and they aren't going to change their economic strategy without some serious incentives. The alternatives exist, but the profit margins on those alternatives are not as lucrative as oil. Oil is one of the most ineffecient fuels in the world, but it's relatively cheap to acquire& refine. From a strictly economic standpoint, it's the best fuel in the world. From an environmental standpoint, it's not.

Look, if the 'liberal scientists' are wrong, then we all get to laugh at them. But if they're right...
I personally don't thinkit's worth the risk to ignore them, especially when the solutions are available, and simply need to be implemented.

Edit: Wow, Michael, that's a wonderful jump of assumptions. You are implying that the only possibly accurate theological choices are atheism or Christianity. I guess that means you automatically dismiss all the other religions of the world. Perhaps you meant to say that my 'argument guarantees I believe in God'. Or did you intend to present a disdainful attitude towards all non-Christian religions?

Additionally, there is far more evidence supporting the theory of global warming than there is supporting the belief in an omnipotent diety. I can take on faith that God exists. Why can't you take on evidence that global warming might possibly be a problem worth investigating more closely?

Notice I never said global warming is fact, simply that it is wiser to act on it as possible fact than to dismiss it because we don't like the message or the messenger.
Then let's try a different messenger. Instead of assuming that only liberals believe in global warming, try this:

In 2005, during the Group of Eight meeting in Gleneagles, Scotland, President Bush acknowledged, for the first time, that pollution generated by humans is contributing to global warming.

http://www.nrdc.org/bushrecord/airenergy_warming.asp

But of course, only the stupid liberals believe in that treehugger crap.

to those who don't think a few inches is a big impact - 2 islands of kiribati (pronounced kiribas) have just gone under and the main one is going. the maldives are under threat, coastal villages of PNG have been retreating metres per year, London and Bangkok will be under sea level, not to mention the netherlands. And the unseen dangers are that salt water is now creeping up into our drinkable water table. Not only is it undrinkable, but it kills all living things that grow in the soil. This is encroaching over Australia at an alarming rate and can not be reversed. It is happening already in our lifetimes, and only nations with water vulnerabilities are aware. everyone else is happy to treat it as a political game and flight of fancy. We are real people here and it's time to stop treating this issue like an election slogan in the US and ruddy well do something!!!!!!!!!!
