First off check with your dr. to see if you are healthy to have a baby still at your age. If you can go get Artificially Inseminated, it's for women like in your position. If you do not know what it is,(but I'm guessing you do), here's a link. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Artificial_insemination
Trust me it's not anything to be ashamed of. I'm 19, but I am well aware that if I was not married at a certain age, I'd probably do that. That's th eonly scientific approach I believe in.
OR adopt them poor babies, please.

No.
Why bother?
If I was in that age range (or even older!), I'd buy sperm from a sperm bank. That way I'd know EXACTLY what I'm getting. He'd be checked out thoroughly by the experts. But I'd make sure I wouldn't get some old guy's sperm but a batch of young sperm.

With a sperm bank, I'd get pregnant for sure. A complete stranger might not be able to get me pregnant - what if that complete stranger is infertile - or WORSE - totally impotent? And then I'd have wasted my hard-earned money on buying some guy, who can't deliver the goods, drinks all night? I'd say a vial of sperm from a reputable sperm bank is a much better and safe investment.

Check out the link below to a sperm bank. There was a report on CNN on them a while ago.

In the days of how wide spread genital herpes and HIV and HEP A,B,C ... THEN NO. You can ask a guy if he is clean, but chances are he is lying to you. If your only prospect is one night stands, then you may have to sleep with up to 10 or more men.
Even then the only thing you will come out with is an STD that you have for the rest of your life.
I would love to have children and I feel my biological clock ticking over every day, but I wouldn't take such a risk of a lifetime of genital herpes.. ALOT of responsibility comes with an STD. You have to protect yourself and your future partner. WHY BOTHER? Adoption, IVF, foster care... are your safest bet.

no there are plenty of safer ways. without using a condom with a complete stranger you open your self up to the possibilites of HIV and other stds. go to your doctor and talk to him or her about invetroferlilization. it costs money but so does AZT and other hiv medications. if you cannot get invitro, consider asking a close male friend, maybe even if he is gay. then you trust the person and wont be afraid to ask them to get tested first. if they care then they will! i hope u have good luck, babies are fun, not at my age of course but i hope you can get one!!

Hi.Are you feeling the clock and want to have a child? I would hope rather than just picking some willing participant, you can choose to go to a place where you have an idea of what kind of traits the donor would have. There is nothing wrong with a single mom. Good luck to you.

I wouldn't. Some women become artifically inseminated. That seems to be the way most childless single women prefer it.
