The age in which a child is required by law to attend school varies according to the locale. I believe it is 16 and under in most states. Failure to attend school is considered truancy, which can lead to juvenile delinquency, but that's not always the case. However, there are a lot of school drop-outs, which will reflect unfavorably on the individual when he or she is trying to get a good job in the future. The importance of education should never be minimized.

No. The only time a person of 19 would go to jail is by being arrested for a crime.

Underaged kids who "skip" school are considered truants. If caught, they are returned to their parents. If it continues, they can be expelled from school. The only time they would be considered "juvenile delinquent" is if they committed petty crimes such as shop lifting, stealing bicycles - something minor. If they commit a serious crime, they are considered criminals. Or, like many in the U.S. prefer "juvenile offenders."

No it's not true. How about home schooled kids, they never go to school. You only have to go till you are 16, then you can drop out and get a great job somewhere.

False. You are no longer a child at 18, thus you are free to do a you wish.

But as a minor, it'd be the parents who'd get charged with neglect.
