When has the United Nations made a wrong decision or got into a conflict they were not suppose to be in?

Serbia,Rwanda,darfur Somalia . it is not so much that the U.N has gotten into conflicts as it is the U.N has made a policy of cowardice and corruption. some where the U.N has failed to live up to the high standards that came out of world war 2. you could all so add Cambodia to this list. to genocide you can all so add mass starvation of local peoples to the charges leveled at the U.N. of course the U.N is following in the best tradition of the league of nations which failled to stop the holocaust. Edward Burke said "all that is necessary for evil to prevail is that good men do nothing."

There is a good book called "Shake Hands With The Devil". It was written by Gen. Romeo Dallaire, a Canadian General who was the UN's man in Rwanda. It spells out exactly how incompetent and corrupt the UN is. There is also a TV special with the same name and subject.

Somalia? More often they'll shirk their responsibilities and not get involved. Like in Kosovo when they needed to have americans clean up a mess that was in their backyard.
