Celeron is lower and slower processor from Pentium it is the same Intel Company, same processor but the L2 cache is much lower. The Pentium is that best processor on the market today, Cor2Duo is that best. The AMD is another brand it is good but chipper because it is not as good as Pentium. To learn more about the processors go to http://www.intel.com/products/processor/core2duo/index.htm

What do you intend on doing?

There all good, the problem is, Which one is the best performer
at this moment? AMD was a dead on gaming processor.
But now Intel has caught up. Then you have the new 64 wars.

Dual, Quad....Right now I run an AMD 64X2.

Tomorrow I might be running an Intel Super poo....or whatever they will call it.

Each of the processors has their strong points and their weak points. If I was in your shoes, I would be more worried about picking the software that fulfills some function that is important for my particular situation. Once you decide on software, it will be easier to pick hardware. It is kind of like deciding whether you need a family car or a pickup before worrying about make and model.
