Vader never touched Obi-Wan; he used a Force technique to translate directly to a noncorporeal form. In that form, he could direct Luke through the Force far more effectively than he could in bodily form, especially in the situation he was in at the time. This technique was likely learned from Yoda and/or others and unknown to Obi-Wan's master Qui-gon Jinn, as he did not reappear in this manner (except a questionable snippet of exclamation to Anakin at a crucial moment). I haven't read the later novels, so I don't know how this concept is treated there, but it seems likely that this was a deliberate action on Kenobi's part.

No one has mentioned the fact, that when Obi Wan disappeared, his Jedi Robe did not, but when Yoda "became one with The Force" his clothes completely vanished with him. When Anikan / Darth Vader appears at the end of Episode VI he is garbed in his Jedi Robe. O.K. I get that a spirit is just a projection of your psi, meaning you can look however you feel, and since Anikin redeemed himself he appears in a Jedi Robe, but is this Obi Wan's "Magical" Robe.
You will recall Anikin's style was quite different in, the later films, he rarely wore the traditional Jedi Garb,,, Think About It and MTFBWYA

It was Obi-Wans time 2 go and he just went. The reason he disappeared is because he became part of the force and he took his figure with him that is why he can reappear in his normal form. Obi-Wan knew that he could not win against Vader and he was to tired to fight so he moved to eternal life before he was defeated and killed for good.

Obi Wan would have more power to help Luke as part of the Force than as a man. You may have noticed that Yoda's body also disappeared when he died. He also became part of the Force.

he doesnt actually get killed you will notice that his body disapears as darth vader strikes him it is like he ascended from his human form and became part of the force this is why you can also see him advising luke later. these arent just memories they are actually Obi Wan giving advice from the force. in human standards you would say he transcended from human to become an angel

Kenobi, meanwhile, sets off to disable the tractor beam so that the Falcon can escape. Kenobi is aware of Vader's presence, and knows he isn't coming back. He deactivates the tractor beam and confronts Vader in a lightsaber duel. Kenobi is struck down by Vader and becomes one with the Force. The lightsaber duel also provides the distraction that allows Luke, Han and Leia to escape.

He sacrificed himself as an example and inspiration for Luke, it also allowed him to become more powerfull. All great jedi masters vanish when they die. Remember yoda in episode 6?

It was a spiritual event. He knew he could fight Empire in a spiritual form, rather than his aged physical existence.

Star Wars was so much better at that point.

The Prequels weren't just awful, but they were bankrupt of Spirit and Emotion. Lucas completely lost his creative soul.
