I can tell you why we switched our kids to Catholic schools. It was because all the public school ever talked about was test scores. So I pulled my 5 overachieving kids our of public school and sent them to our parish school.
I now have seven kids in Catholic school.

...and on 9-11...NO ONE in their school had to ask PERMISSION to pray. Prayer is a part of every school day.

well, i go to a catholic school, so i guess i can answer this. my parents actually put me in the school, but as i'm consdering going 2 a public high school, some of the reasons that pull me back towards Catholic education is as follows.

1) its a close-knit community. you know everyone in your grade, even sometimes the school. you're friends with almost everyone; not many people hold grudges or are mean.

2) this is going to sound really cliche, but there really is less separation between people in Catholic schools. yeah, we all have our own circles of friends, but nobody really hates each other. the whole grade does things together a lot.

If they are religious and want a more religious education for their children. For the same reason, also, as parents take their children out of public school for any private school - the hope of a better and more moral education for their children, with hopefully a better social environment and less negative influences.

Whether they get any of that is debatable, though
