That's what I do.
The comfort comes because I've reaffirmed that yes, I am indeed alive. Even though I may feel numb inside, my heart's still beating...

The sort of adrenaline rush that you experience from danger or thrill could be the cause of what you interpret as comfort. Adrenaline, in some instances, can alleviate stress and allows for one to feel no pain in some instances. Also, it creates endorphins which give you a feeling of happiness, however the feeling can quickly dissipate, making it not only addictive but giving you a need to experience the feeling many times and within short amounts of time.

No. If doing dangerous, reckless things gives you "comfort" you need to talk to a professional (psychologist, counselor) about this.

Although reckless and dangerous things may comfort some -- it's doesn't do that for me....enjoy while you can!
