The north, for the most part, is a cesspool of liberalism. So naturally, they all think they're intellectuals and that they're better than you.

They are jealous because we have a lower cost of living here , see you moved up there , they are moving to the south in record numbers , because for what they pay for a old house there can get them in a gated community here....maybe we are un educated because we have no tolls and still have better roads than they do , and lower taxes , and pay less for everything else ..if that is un educated then call me stupid ..plus the air is cleaner here , they think everyone here lives in a trailer too , but they have more trailers there, ((and out west)) than we do.. and in Manhattan they don't even throw their trash in a can they just throw it on the ground or outside the window ((closer to the Bronx)) ..oh yes and the pot thing doesn't help us they think we are behind the times ..it is crack and heroin there ....just kidding on the last part drugs are everywhere .....

It is just an old stereotype that is all ..everywhere you go , it is the same , I was in Southern California , and they saw where I was from and asked about housing here , I told them I had 10 acres they were shocked , they first though it was a farm , I explained that it was not ..they said there you can not buy ten acres of land there ..so it is not just the north my puff puff friend it is everywhere .....and it is not just the pot making you think this way ....

Because of traditional preconceived ideas simply because a person speaks with a drawl is different I personally think it is kinda cute. My cousin visited relatives in the country and came back talking about the kivvers (covers on a bed).

Stereotype that parents teach their kids. Just like in the south we learn nasty things to call people of a different race/country from Pop or Grampa.

People who are like that only prove that they themselves are not terribly bright. How in the world could being from one part of the country make you less intelligent? Somebody in Hollywood created that "Green Acres" stereotype. We all know how intelligent they are in Hollywood, don't we?

Everyone I know from the south is a breath of fresh air from the norm being so well-mannered.

because of a lot of hicks and rednecks hail from the south!

Just look at "Redneck75's" answer! LMAO!

if you do not fit the stereotype.... don't let it bother you!

I am black and a lot of people tend to say nasty things about my race! Even though I am bourgeoisie!
My dad is an archietect and my mother is a lawyer, and I am educated.... but a lot of dumb folks look at my skin and assume that I must be one of the hoochies in rap videos! lol.....
