Is it possible to do these and have a part time job and or do extra curricular things too? Just wondering if the concept of the two year degree or the four year degree is ever completed in this time. Also if you did do it please tell me what else you had going on in life...!

I did 4 years for a 4-year bachelor's. I started while I was a soon-to-be junior in high school and am finishing now at 20. While I was in my first two years, I had high school along with college. In my second two years, I picked up internships and lab research. So it can be done, but I do think people take on WAYYY too much while trying to do college. It's best to just take out loans, and finish as soon as possible, if you can.

I don't know if this helps,

But for me as a HS senior I have talked with several universities, and 4 years is easily possible even with a job.

Actually at CU (where I will probably be going), I would be completing a Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering in three years. I would be required to take 15-17 credits each sem to do so, but I benefited greatly from AP but even more so from already taking college classes.

That would be my greatest bit of advice. In colorado we have a House Bill ..... that allows HS students to take college classes for free. If it isn't too late, do it.

Also, talking with my friends at colleges (CSU, CU), many kids party 4 days a week and still get B's (and some get A's). So I can't consider somebody with a job would do any worse than somebody that spends 30+ hours a week partying.

Yes. You just have to stay dedicated. It's really easy to slack off and be lazy in college. I did university in 4. Did a good number of extra currics. Coulda had a part time job. Coulda finished in 3 years. Didn't, cuz, yes, I too was lazy in college. Didn't completely slack off cuz I wanted to go to grad school, which is why it took me the normal 4 years.

I'm on year number 5 at the University at Buffalo, that's because I changed my major sophmore year. I think if you know what you're going for when you go to college it's a lot easier to make it in the right amount of time. Everyone is on the 5 year plan now!

I finished university in four years. My boyfriend also finished in four years. He started of in engineering, took a year to figure out what he wanted to do, and finally ended up with a double major in math and economics.
