I just added aol to my computer and now the color is off. I can get blue and green and black but no reds. I went into display and tried to fix it that way but it is the same problem the line of colors has no reds or anything in it. I also checked the colors on my monitor.

Any other suggestions of things to do?

Unfortunately there really isn't an easy way to know what happened. AOL software makes THOUSANDS of little changes to your computer when it installs.
There is no need for AOL - you don't need it. It really is one of the worst 'services' ever created and unless you ABSOLUTELY want all that extra baggage, software, memory load I would uninstall it as fast as I can and enjoy the Internet just as it really is. The only thing you could do is uninstall and reboot and see if your color returns. If not, find the driver for your monitor (you might have to go the monitor manufacturer's site and D/L it), go to the "Control Panel", "Monitor" and "Update Driver" with the new driver. That should force the new settings. I hope this helps.

I would start by uninstalling AOL and see if it corrects the problem. If it does, problem solved, and you know AOL caused the issue. If not, reinstall the program. Check your connections at the Monitor, and make sure they are sucurely fastened.
Next, go to the AOL website support area and see if they have a fix. You can also power down your computer, and confirm that your graphics card is still firmly in the PCI Slot, inside the computer.(unless its onboard video) Next, be sure the video drivers are up to date.
If you don't know what kind of video card you have, here is a good tool to identify it. If it is onboard, use the chipset numbers, and go to the motherboard manufacture for the latest drivers.
If you have a third party card, go to the video card manufacturer or someone like Driverguide.com. (Free to join)

Try the system restore:
Go To:
start
programs
accessories
systems tools
system restore
This process is completely reversable. And does not remove your personal files. Just go back one checkpoint at a time until your puter is working good again.
