The best way to find out is to find someone in your community who has these jobs. For example, check your yellow pages and locate a graphic design firm. Write a nice letter or e-mail explaining that you are interested in graphic design and request an informational interview. Many professionals will be eager to talk with you about how they got into the industry, and they can offer you advice on what your next steps should be.

Another great resource is an industry-specific association. Contact your local chapter of an event planning association and ask to attend a meeting. Most associations will let you attend one meeting as a guest. While you're there, you can meet event planners and ask them for advice.

Those are rather diverse interests. Anything business related will help you no matter what you decide to do. Art classes will help to begin to develop your art skills for Graphic Design. Some of the same skills you use in Graphic Design can also be used in wedding or party planning. When you get a little older you may want to see if you can work during the summer for a company who plans weddings or parties to see if that is what you really want to do. I would get as much math and other basic courses as possible. You may not use them as much in your chosen field, but should you change your mind, you will have the skills necessary to make a change. A planner or assistant will need excellent planning and time management skills. You can learn anything with determination. With an assistant or planner, you will want to consider getting a business degree. Graphic Designers will need a degree in Graphic Design, or Commercial Art. You can sometimes get started with an Associate Degree, but I would count on a BS or BA degree. You may be able to find a company where you could work part time or during the summers where you can get exposure to your chosen field.

For any of these jobs, you will want some business background, so some type of business class would be helpful. An art class helps for graphic design.
