how much on average would a black paint job cost? i have a 1997 e320 mercedes. is it more expensive to get a dark color or light???? the color right now is in good shape just a few clear coat chips.

I'd imagine it would be more expensive for colors like blue,red,green and such. Black and white should be cheaper. Make sure you get a good painter thats painted nice cars like your benz! BTW: Some dealers will paint your bumper and chips to match for a cheaper price then painting the whole thing..

It's more expensive to have any MB painted. You say the color is good than why don't you just concentrate on the chips.
A small artist paint brush and clear nail polish delicately applied will save you a lot of money.
Besides once you repaint a car you reduce its' value.

a good repaint is five grand or more depending on your area. For chips take it to a good detailer and get it touched up and buffed.

brighter colors (except red) are cheaper for insurance. black is worse.
