Well, I just started college this year. I don't know what I want to major in yet but I know it's a mix up between teaching (secondary) or psychology... Ive been trying to weigh the pros and cons to both...

With teaching... in Omaha, there are tons of openings for teachers and it would be a secure job to have. Id need to goto school for about 4 years and the hours would be good too... It wouldnt be a job I hate and its not the best money but you can live off it...

With psychology, that was my dream job since I was little but the need for actual psychologists are very low... in order to even really make money you have to have a PHD pretty much ... Im very interested in it though and I would LOVE to have a job in this field... I know there is social workers and counselers but I want to eventually become a psychatrist one day... but It would take FOREVER to get a PHD and I dont know how secure it would be

Could someone else explain to me more pros and cons of both...thanks

Shoot for the moon...go for what you think you'll love!! Make a goal and be diligent and you'll get there! My daughter, who loves nature, will graduate from college with high honors in a few months in Environmental Studies. Even though she's brilliant and could have studied anything...she chose a field that interests her. She's out to save the world...and she might just do it (someone has to)!! Good luck to you! It's okay to be undecided at your point...just do your best!
