I think everyone is prejudiced to an extent. Some don't realize that they are, and others just don't want others to think badly of them. I try my best not to call anyone a racist, although I've been guilty of doing that in the past. Calling someone a "racist" is another form of prejudice; it is attaching a label to someone based on one belief. I'd like to think that I'm more than my beliefs.

The reason is because many people assume that a racist looks, acts and talks a certain way. In fact, they stereotype and think that only KKK members are racist or only someone who calls a person the N-word is a racist. When a person feels as if there race is better than another, that is racist. You can have friends from all walks of life, but if you believe that your race is better than another, that is racist. And if you assume that certain races do certain things or act certain ways, that is prejudice. Most of us are - stereotypes are hard to shake.

Yea, it's like there are too many standards today; not just a double standard like in the past. Too many people waste their time and breath claiming they are proponents of ant-racism while being quite the tribal racist themselves. We can't end racist rituals and discrimination until we all start to practice talking to each other instead of being back stabbing, yelling in your ears, grouping off into gangs while pounding chests idiots.

First off, just because someone refers to someone as "Mexican" or "black" doesn't make them racist. It is an adjective that they use to describe the person. What is the "profile?" Prejudice is treating someone differently (looking down on them) because they are different.

What? Because they don't like rap or rappers (b/c most of rap is pathetic and filled with violence and stupidity) does not mean they are racist. It is like someone talking about punk rockers. If someone doesn't like them, they can say what they want about them as long as they can back up what they say. When they start hating them b/c of their color, that is a different story.

Because they do not want to face the fact. We all have some prejudices in us. They are preconceived notions without facts. It is taught in the home and in our environment. Once we realize and face this demon, then we can do something to change our opinions and attitudes.

Prejudice means to prejudge. I think all of us are guilty of that to some extent. Every time we refer to people as "a group", we are prejudging them aren't we?
Some people are more blatant than others but none of us are guiltless, even though all of us are created equal.
