Where & when did story took place???

It takes place in the neighborhood of and at the University of Chicago's Laboratory Schools near the end of the school year, present day.
I thought it was a great read. A version of Umberto Eco's Name of the Rose, or Katherine Neville's The Eight, or Dan Brown's Angels and Demons for kids. Entertaining and educational. If you liked it, be sure to read the sequel, "The Wright 3."

The story took place in America somewhere outside Chicago. It happened in the present day. The book sucked.

I am not sure where, but I know it was a sunshine state reader book last year, so if you look, you can probably get some info on it. However, everywhere i looked, i can find no info.
