You didn't say whether it was the body or the under carriage.

If it is a small spot on the surface then you need to remove the rust with as fine a sandpaper that will do the job and then it must have a primer put on it and then paint it the color of the car.

If the spot is small than I wouldn't spray it but use a small artist brush to apply the primer and paint.

If it is rusting through from under neath such as a fender than you need to get the rubberized undercoat spray and apply it to the area.

If you want to fix it yourself, you need to remove all of the rust, ang sand the area till your down to bare metal, which will be silver colored. Then you need to prime it, paint it and clear coat it. A few thin layers of each. You can get all the material relatively cheap at an autozone or what have you

try to get it fix as soon as possible to kept it from getting worse and check the other side in the same spot more en likely it getting weak to but their are no miracle fixes out their the build a car to last so long as fare a rust is a concern and won's it starts it's going to get worse. good luck

Yes, you fix it right away. You can even have someone come out to your work or house and fix it there. It's not too expensive and it will prevent it from rusting further.

there is some stuff you can buy what stoped rust at autozone but i can't think of the name of it sorry
