The first one is making fun of Al Gore who received an Oscar for An Inconvenient Truth for being a purported waster of energy when he's lecturing everyone else to save the environment.

The second one is making fun of James Cameron, the big movie director, for announcing (and making a TV show) about ancient bone boxes that might contain the remains of Jesus. The announcer is comparing that hoop-la to reports of people who see images of the Virgin Mary in common household objects.
