I'm really not trying to "nit-pick" but I feel the urge to point out a few misconceptions, first with the labels people seem to be using in our "current times."
Unfortunately, there are many people that find it very difficult to work through their week without the aid of alcohol. These same people are often the ones that use the excuse of it being Friday night and not having to work the next day, to over-inbibe. They've tricked their minds into believing that they can't decompress, relieve the stress from their week, without drinking it all away.
I'm not one that goes out much for labels, but for the sake of trying to keep a mud-puddle clear ~ these people are what most of us would label "alcoholic."
In my opinion, and please remember, this is just my opinion so take it or leave it ~ an "alcoholic" is someone who through drinking alcohol, is continually trying to re-achieve the sense of eurphoria and well-being they had when they first began to drink. Unfortunately, the false feelings that all is well are often fleeting, if not altogether absent, and it seems to take more and more alcohol to achieve the desired state, if ever.
Binge Drinking ~ Is a whole different ballgame.
The type of binge drinking I've witnessed seems to be more of a "group event." Like illegal street races and Lemmings over a cliff, the activity seems to be charged by an almost mob like behaviour. The people participating in binge drinking seem to have no thought whatsoever for their own or anyone else's welfare. As strange as this may sound to you, I've pretty much decided that binge drinking doesn't really have all that much to do the alcohol. It's the activity. It seems to be more of a dare activity to see who can last the longest without getting too sick (or dead) to go on.
I can't, and won't, say that I understand this type of behaviour. The only thing I do understand is that binge drinking and the behaviour of (most) alcoholics ~ are not even remotely related.

I never go out drinking during the week because I know for a fact, I will never wake up the next day for work, or if I do, I'll fell like s*it for most of the day. Having a drink at the weekend is fine, but you should know your limitations. Getting "paraletic" ever weekend is self destructive. A few drinks so you feel tipsy or merry is fine, but when your puking in the street or in A&E every weekend (or night), then you know you have a problem.

It's horrible! I don't understand why people do it. Why would you wanna drink so much that you can't have a conversation, you don't your name or where you live, you pass out and you wake up the next morning feeling sh*t. Not to mention all the damage your doing to your liver. I don't know why people can't just have a few drinks, enough to make you merry but not enough to make you legless. A lot of people associate getting drunk with having a good time, but you don't need loads of alcohol or any alcohol to enjoy yourself. I only have a couple of drinks when I go out coz I hate being drunk and not being in control and I still have a good time.

the united kingdom government has defined "binge ingesting" as while somebody beverages extra advantageous than two times the cautioned daily intake in an afternoon. i'm a woman, and the cautioned optimum is two-3 units according to day, so if I easily have 4-6, i'm a binge drinker. 6 units is 3 pints of susceptible (3.5 %) beer, or a pair of huge glasses of wine. consequently, i'm a binge drinker. Now, I totally admit that if i pass out and drink plenty (6-8 pints or so) that isn't great. My head is rubbish the subsequent morning, and that i've got self assurance sick. It in basic terms occurs approximately each and every couple of months, yet that's what I call binge ingesting. i think of that has the aptitude to reason injury to my liver, yet as quickly as I in basic terms do it each and every couple of months and otherwise lead a healthful existence sort, I could desire to be nice. the government says that if I drink 3 pints in an afternoon, and the ABV is over 3.5 % (so a pint at lunchtime, and 2 in the night, because of the fact maximum beer is over 3.5 %), i'm doing irreparable injury to my liver. i've got self assurance which you in basic terms stay as quickly as, and additionally you may desire to have as plenty exciting as you in all hazard can till now you die, as long as you do no longer injury absolutely everyone. i be responsive to which potential you may desire to weigh up the pros and cns of each and every thing. i think of that if i ended ingesting thoroughly, i would not be waiting to pass to a pub (this is horrid being the sole sober individual), so i would not be waiting to socialize, so i could have very few acquaintances. i could additionally discover it complicated to fulfill new human beings - interior of sight pubs are the hub of a community! So i'm unlikely to try this. i could desire to have a existence. sure, i shouldn't drink plenty that i'm getting liver ailment, or my judgement is so impaired i think of walking alongside a railway track or swimming the Thames is a great concept late at evening, although this is a balancing act. the united kingdom government's training is somewhat too strict on what they say is nice, so maximum human beings possibly forget approximately it besides.

Drinking alcohol beverage can be helpful for people only people don't exceed their limit.
Binge drinking is not only the waste of money and time for the people who do it, but a nuisance for the people around them.
You'd better keep your own pace and don't get involved so much with those bunch of people who like drinking, even if they are your colleagues.

Binge drinking can be deadly, its an idiotic thing to even do..at any age..I stopped drinking 21 years ago, none since then either,so it is possible to quit without clinging to a "recovery" mode..Adults have the option to drink alcohol & always will since it it legal,,its up to them how much they drink ...Unfortuanately many can pay the price for their foolishness as well...
