He is the wonder boy because he has games where he lives up to that title, and then other games he goes 15 min stretches without getting a touch on the ball.
Overall, I think he is a great player and a fantastic provider. What made him seem so amazing was his partnership with Van Nistelrooy, the best providing striker partnered with possibly the best finisher in the world. I was sad to seem him go because they were dynamite together.

He's a good player, but that's it. Yes he is overrated.
In my opinion England have not got one top class striker. Look at how many goals Rooney's scored within the last 12 months for England - not many at all.
Look at Beckham - he was classed as England's best player in 2005, yet he hadn't done anything for England for years. All you heard about was that goal against Greece in 2001.
I so hope he doesn't score tomorrow.

Rooney is a good footballer but the England press over praises him. they lift him so high that he fails to live to those expectations.
Just give him time the boy will deliever though i do not think he can score 20/30 goals a season!
This explains why Wenger protects Theo Walcot from the media.

although he din score 20-30 goals per season but his contribution
to d club and nation should not be forgotten.
his skill cant be challenge by anyone on the pitch!
his shot is very powerful too and the defenders on the field can not compete with the speed with him!
besides he also play football with his brain.
u should watch the goal that he scored the match with Portsmouth!
even sir Alex Ferguson also said the goal is unbelievable.
people now compared Wayne with other legend in EPL such as Eric Cantona or d world football legend like Pele and maradorna!
may be you would say he is easy to get angry.
but you can see he is more mature after 2006 world cup.
he din argue with referee when he is foul and din revenge when somebody tackle him.
u should not forget he is Just 20 years old.
in this age already have this marvellous ability so u can imagine what will happen after 4 or 5 years!
so i m sure Wayne will be grown to be a star like Eric Cantona or George Best!

you said that you were an england fan but are you a rooney fan...rooney is worth every penny whether club or country.. because he is the nucleus of the team. he may not score the said amount of goals per season but he created space for other players. no one defender can man mark rooney because his agility, speed, shot accuracy and dazzling run is something to 'recon' with. with all his attributes mentioned doesn't that seem a boy wonder material? rooney draws two and sometime three defenders creating space for saha, giggs, scholes etc..if he didn't worth his worth then he would have been sold by alex...think about it.

the next time you go to see him live, try and track him.
his running off the ball, and deep play is exhausting.
Henry does it for arsenal, Owen when fit does it, the big difference is the triangular movement of united, promotes different goal scorers, as opposed to one prolific one.
to see Rooney, Henry and Owen on one team would be mesmerising for any defence.

Wayne Rooney is living, breathing proof that money really can't buy everything. I mean, all those millions and he still has a face like a potato, and the intellectual capacity of a polystyrene cup.

well what can i say...Rooney is a ball wonder and of course he is one of the best footballer in the world everyone knows hat because when he played for everton everyone was thinking how good he was and what happen he proved that he was one of the best so when everton was playing against man united Rooney scored a goal against them.
on the summer transfer man united wanted him because Alex Ferguson knows how quality Rooney was, for two or three years he was happy that he played for man united and he promise his boss that he score a goal and what happen he did.
