I've tried different usb ports but nothing happens. I've uninstalled and reinstalled everything that has to do with itunes or my ipod but still nothing happens. Can anyone help me? PLEASE!!!!!!!

This once happened to me. Try using another computer, and when you say reset, did u get it back to the factory settings. Also there is a way to put it into disk mode, and that was the only way i was able to get my computer to read mine at first, you have to put it into disk mode. The apple website explains it http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93651 (you can do this on your computer)

If it doesnt work on another computer, or disk mode i would call apple and tell them, but it should work.

Try this:

If you have My Computer on your desktop, Right-click it and select Properties. If not, click the Start button, then right-click on My Computer and select Properties.

Go to the Hardware tab, and click the button that says Device Manager

On the window that comes up, look for anything that has an Exclamation point or Question mark on it under Disk Drives or Universal Serial Bus controllers.

If there is one, right click on it and select Update Driver.

If there isn't, check for Apple iPod USB Device under Disk Drives. If that is there, right-click it and select Uninstall. You may have to reboot when it finishes. Before rebooting, unplug your iPod.

Once you reboot, run iTunes and plug your iPod back in. It should reinstall the drivers and make your computer recognize your iPod again.
