I would not consider that a suburb of Houston... But nonetheless, it is a very small rural town, laid back and just really small! In comparison to other suburbs of the Houston area, well it's a bit dated, and it doesn't offer the amenities of a large town like most of the others do. Most suburbs are jammed pack with everything you would also find in Houston, minus the traffic and crime. Though I believe the cost of living is way cheaper in New Caney compared to lots of other areas.

Well, if Conroe can be considered a suburb, I guess New Caney can. I haven't been up there in probably seven years, and that was way out in the boonies.

Very rural, and people don't live in subdivisions, they live on acreage.

Most suburbs in Houston are the "masterplan" type and consist of subdivisions and chain stores. New Caney is different.

Last time I was in New Caney, it was full of hicks. But that's been a few years.

Wait a minute...it was miles from Houston back then. It's a suburb now?
