I have a 1978 Austin Mini that need tires. My local dealer cannot find tires for me.

I've found a talon tire in Canada that will sell Falken, Kuhmo, and Yokohamas in your size

Yokohama had them,and Falken still do. I would recommend the Falkens - good wear, good traction, and much better in the wet! I would suggest using the 165/70R10 tyre. Even on standard (skinny) rims, it is better than the 145s. You'll probably have to gety them shipped from England (I know they still have them there), or from Canada, if you're lucky.

Forget about changing rim size - +1 rims (11") don't exist, and +2 rims (12") only come in one size, a 155/70R12. No point in going narrower.

OOOF! ... That is a hard one.

Thought of checking a Mini drivers club website (with that age of mini you should join) or going with a +1 or +2 wheel size? Changing the wheel size might be cheaper than tires that size.
