With street prostitution women, men and even children can be harmed, robed of their cash by pimps and muggers and they don't pay taxes on the money that's earned.

With legal porn, kids aren't allowed; if someone underage is in a porn movie the producers go to jail and the money is confiscated . Also porn stars are on a safe secured set, not on a dark dangerous street corner. Porn stars get paid good money and while they might give a percentage to the agency that booked them, they keep the bulk of their pay checks instead of handing it all over to a pimp. Most importantly uncle same gets his cut, so the the government doesn't mind.
