Forgive.

It's the hardest, but most noble thing to do. It will show you have character, compassion, and a good heart.

Who among us has NOT let another person down, hurt them, disappointed or betrayed them in some fashion?

Do not have the attitude of waiting for this friend to acknowledge the wrong, ask forgiveness, or redeem the situation. You are held accountable for how you react as much as this friend is held accountable for how they move forward with this situation.

Think of this as an opportunity, not as a platform for anger, hate, or confrontation.

I doubt a true friend would betray you, if that's the case then this person was just an acquaintance. At this time I suggest you move on because after this will you be able to trust this person again if not then what would be the point of the relationship, after all; all relationships are founded on a strong basis of trust regardless of whether it's family, friends or a partner. If you say you could trust this person again then I have to say your setting yourself up for future disappointment. Moving on may be difficult but no one is saying to forget the past. Remember it and learn from it. You don't have to break total contact just understand that what you have here isn't a friend but is nothing more than an acquaintance....

Well you can try to take revenge from your fren for the harm done since no one has the right to betray you, isnt it! But the bad thing will be it will make you come down and you will be as equally bad as your fren. There will be difference in the two of you in that case. So instead of taking revenge, i will rather suggest you to confront your fren and tell him/her what he/she did to you was wrong. If you think the person is sincerely apologetic or has a good enough acceptable reason for his/her action than you can forgive your fren and move on, but if u see that the person is not regrettable at all and tends to repeat it again if got a chance, than i dont think he/she is your real fren and you should better try to keep away from this fren of yours in the near future for your own good.

Would like some more info on it, but off the top of my head, I'd say confront the person and tell them exactly why you feel betrayed.

It depends on what they did and how dtrong the friendship between the two of you is/was. Its simple to just say that you will "cut someone off", but most rarely do that. We all make mistakes, and IF you think this was one on your friends behalf perhaps a second chance is in order. If, however, they are a repeat offender perhpas its betst to say "Goodnight and Good Luck"!

Discuss the problem with them. If they are a friend, this should be do-able. Then you can either maintain your friendship, or agree to go separate ways. If they aren't willing to discuss it, accept that your friendship is over and move on. Its the same process that occurs when a boyfriend/girlfriend type relationship breaks up. I wish you good luck.

I need details!!!

But, if I were you, I would ask myself whether or not I thought the person made a decent decision. If they did it because they didn't feel like they had a choice or if they were trying to help you (read: ratted you out for something screwed up you did or they were going to get in trouble if they didn't say something), then just leave it alone and don't talk to them anymore.

If they did it for PURELY selfish self-serving reasons (read: stole your boyfriend, stole your money, slept with your mom) then you need to get them back.

Oh dear, that has happened to me too and it still hurts. My advice to you is to ditch that "friend" of yours because a true friend would NOT betray you. That is what I did, and I am so glad I did it. Good luck.

Betrayal is not signs of a good friend. Let them go and keep minimal contact with them. It doesn't mean you have to stop talking to them, just don't trust them with anything anymore. Sorry to hear that.
