I am 41 weeks pregnant, and every time I stand up or start to move, my stomach severely cramps, and it hurts to walk around. When I sit down it seems to stop until I move, then the pain comes back. When I am sitting down the pain is in my lower back, and sometimes shoots all the way up my back. When I move around or stand, the pain is in my lower stomach. Is this just braxton hicks, or something more. Have any of you had the same experiences?

I am 37-weeks pregnant, and I have the same problem. It's the weight and pressure of the baby. If I sit still, I'm fine. If I get up or barely change positions, pain all the way. It's so uncomfortable. I honestly don't think it's Braxton Hicks contractions because they'd occur even if we didn't move, as would real contractions. The Braxton Hicks would go away if you moved, but as you know, the real ones won't. They don't pop up if you do move. If you're really worried, go ahead and call your doctor. It's always best to inform him/her if you have worries. Good luck and congratulations!

40 weeks is full term. It seems like it is braxton hicks but you should call your doctor ASAP for any problems that you may have or you may be just about ready to give labor.

well have you lost your muces plug yet and if so how long ago. when you are having labor pains you will know. how many centimeters were you at your last doctor visit and how much percentage were you thinned out. some women do have back labor, but if in doubt and you cant stand the pain then i would definately go to the hospital cause you are ready in months. good luck dear. congrats by the way

Sounds like it could be brazton hicks contractions... but you should call your doctor to make sure. I never had pain that shot ALL the way up my back. Pain in my lower back... but not all the way up it.

I'm definately not a doctor, but it doesn't really sound like contractions. I would say its the position of your baby that is causing you to be uncomfortable when moving or standing.

Yes I have had similar experiences with both of my babies and the contractions that stop when you change positions aren't the real ones. Real contractions don't go away. They get stronger and closer together. If you want you can time them. Best of luck.

Might be Braxton Hicks, could be labor. I would call your doc or head into the Labor and Delivery, they will check you out and see if its labor etc.

Some people only feel the contractions in your back(my sister did). Call your doctor asap. You could be in labor.
