I have been a steelers fan since the late 70's. with the way the NFL is nowadays. the money, free angency, teams cant build super dynasties anymore. so many good players get cut because of "money reasons". it kinda doesnt makes sense to me. a team signs you with all these bonuses you could make if you achieve certain things. and if and when you achieve them, they cut you because you was good enough to earn the bonuses. but they signed you with all the bonuses hoping that you would be good enough!!!. makes no sense to me at all. thats why the steelers of the 70's is the greatest team of all time because they kept their core players for 10-15 years or until they retired. as a matter of fact. besides traded preston pearson after the 1974 season, i dont think the steelers traded none of their core players or starters. if anything, they added on. miss the good ol'e days..

Joey Porter had a nasty year in 2006 and enable's settle for it, he has a wide ego and undesirable temperment. For what he became owed and his factor of play lately, the money the Steelers will save will be extra appropriate spent on different loose brokers and on draft possibilities. he gained't be confusing to change and the crew has intensity at LB. is in simple terms no longer neglected!

Let's face it. Joey Porter has not been the same since he was shot in the leg a couple years ago. He also has a big ego and his hot temper has also been an issue. Even though he was a favorite of Coach Cowher when he was there, he really had no backers on the new coaching staff. He really will not be that hard to replace since the Steelers have let good players walk before and just keep on winning. No great loss!

I believe that with the way things went last year, even though they just won the superbowl, that they want to start thinking about rebuilding the team. The defense was truely not that good last year and big ben was terrible (although he will bounce back this year). They probably want some new young players they can get in the draft. The steelers will always be known for their fierce linebackers and maybe they see someone in the draft that is key. Don't doubt Tomlin just yet, let him try to prove himself first.

i would have rather the steelers cut farrior, the guy has only 1 maybe 2 good years left. sure joey has a hot temper, but let's face it he was the heart of the defense and it will not be the same. this is there second big screw up, letting whisenhunt go and not making him the head coach was the first, now porter, whose next hines ward, if that happens then the rooney's have lost there minds.

It's the beginning of the slow decline the Steelers will experience thanks to Mike Tomlim.
