Maybe because Yahoo would like to avoid any liability for slander. Since they would have no control over whether what you write is true or not, you could make up all sorts of vicious lies about people, which could be illegal if it causes them injury or loss.

But I doubt that's the real reason. I suspect that Yahoo just doesn't want Answers to turn into a childish forum in which people can hurl insults at one another. (Not that it isn't already. Check out some of the politics questions. Sheesh!)

How would you like it if you were one of those people?

This is not a reality show- it's a place to put our best, and yes, sometimes our funniest, foot forward.

Take the trash to the garbage.

Beside which, if you do, you might have to look for an attorney!

One reason is the liability issue for liable/slander. The second, and maybe more important, is that is just plain rude. Name calling should go away when you leave 1st grade.

well the problem is firstly it is not decency to talk bad about a person that too to other ppl....so its etiquette that prevents it....secondly if u do so......that person or sumone else might repot abuse cos questions rn't supposed 2 b like dat.......then forget yhaoo answers or start ur points from scratch......so give up the idea of talking bad abt ppl
