If she was not driving off into the sunset as someone said this about her, it means she is getting older. To some, it means over 40. To anyone over 40, it means over 50. Etc. I think we can all agree that 80 is pretty much really over the hill.

"She was over the hill" can mean several different things:

1. She's overjoyed! (Knowing what came next would help clarify this!)

2. She's really old! As in over the hill at 50!

3. Literally it can mean she was over (on the other side of) the hill.

When you are over the hill, you are old, used up and worn out. It can be a person, or a thing like a car. Kind of like I am. LOL
