I've always wondered what constitutes an "emo" band.

If you don't think "Taking Back Sunday" an "emo" band, what genre of music WOULD they fit into?

Tell All Your Friends definitely had an emo feel to it, and it ushered in a whole new era of dual vocalist bands within their "scene."

Are they a textbook example of the "original emo"? No, but from where I stand now looking back I'd say T.A.Y.F. was an album that made an impact in the emo scene.

Yes, don't you listen to the lyrics? Other emo bands: Finch, Dashboard Confessional, Hawthorne Heights.

ehh...they're sort of iffy/in between. i love them, but when you have songs like cute without the e, it sort of hints towards emo
