care about our dreams and hopes for the future? Or they know that someone will miss us and mourn us? Or do they just chomp us down like we chomp down the poor KFC chickens and dump their bones in the trash can on the way to the movies? I've just lost my appetite......

Tastes like chicken?

No.

The lower animals do not experience cognitive thought. They do not experience love or delight, do not compose or play music, do not study the stars, do not sit about theorizing on the thoughts and emotions of other animals (or humans). They do not worship, study, hope, fantasize, sculpt marble into statues, paint masterpieces, or do long division.

An animal's entire existance is focused on one thing: survival. Find food when hungry, drink when thirsty, sleep when tired, mate when the season is right. That is it. It is their lack of cognitive thought, and not just opposable thumbs, that makes them the "lower" animals.
