I agree that it's "a" for the first one.

Darwin's observations on the Galapagos made him think:
1. These finches are different on the different islands. They have differently shaped beaks and they eat different foods. Maybe the ones that had beaks that could handle the available food were the birds that survived. Over time they became more and more adapted to the food available to them.
2. What's more, the finches were similar to birds he had seen on the mainland of South America, and yet they were different. This made him think that they were related to the South American birds but that they may have changed over time.
3. For the tortoises, same idea as #1.

The chickens that resulted from selective breeding might not do so well under conditions of natural selection in the wild. For instance, a breeder may have selected for white feathers. That chicken is going to be caught and eaten very quickly in the wild because it will show up too easily.

its a

the finches and tortoises evolved differently. the developed due to their surroundings. you can look up pictures of the different bird beaks. some birds ate seeds others ate plants. so their beaks developed differently.

i would assume that they would die out. bacteria mutates. there would eventually be some disease that none of them were immune to because of their similar genes.
