Noah Webster (1758-1843) was an American lexicographer, who started writing the fist American Dictionary at 43. "The first Merriam-Webster Dictionary was first published in 1828". He was from West Hartford, Conn. His grandfather's name was Daniel Webster.

However, there is another Daniel Webster (1782-1852), a "leading American statesman, lawyer and orator" from New Hampshire.

None of the sources below mention any relationship between the lexicographer and the statesman. However, since Noah and Daniel share the same last name, I would assume they are related. In addition, Daniel, it seems, was named after Noah´s grandfather.
