Start at the top and work you way down. Walter Reed is five miles from the White House--the apple doesn't fall far from the tree in this case.

This is a concern that I have that really needs to be talked about. The current budget includes another slashing of the VA budget. We want our troops to come home and be taken care of--and they will eventually return. A reality plain as day. Why then, is Bush backing cuts to funding? There is no funding to handle what they are faced with now--Where is the money gonna come from to take care of the returning Vets?

This story continues to be one of the most pronounced failures of the Bush Administration and the overall ineptitude of Republican leadership.

Praise God that the media called attention to these deplorable conditions, however Walter Reed is only the most visible of the many VA hospitals across the country. It would be a real disservice to our soldiers and vets if the investigation is limited to only one or a few hospitals. I tend to believe that firing the general who had been there only six months may have been a grandstanding injustice.

Walter Reed was on the chopping block scheduled to be closed(to save money)!!!
In the middle of two wars no less!!!

I suspect the general was fired to protect those who made the decision to close that facility. Can you say bush and co.

Yet again this administration has shown it's utter stupidity and and disregard for the American People!

When are we gonna wake up get out of this stupid I raq war and throw bush, cheney, rumsfeld and who ever else got us into this mess (and please don't mention 911, Iraq had nothing to do with 911) in jail?

Impeach bush NOW!!!

What you mean by if they did a good job?

They should done it when the first person got wounded and came and should have kept the tab on the facility. If they are so quick at reporting Britney Spears shaving her head off, shame on them for not reporting about this years back, but then again its better late than never. So I would venture to say its a ok job would have been a great job had they did that long time back.

Why does this administration require that their sins be unveiled for the entire world to see before doing something? I'm certain some career soldier will lose his head over this, and it will be all his fault... But... In my job it's MY responsibility to see that the people under me do their job. This starts at the top. If I sent men and women to be maimed for nothing, IF I was the christian I claim to be, then I would make certain I atoned for my errors in every way possible.... and NOT only after the media gets involved.

Apparently complaints were made starting back in 2003. It is rather sad that the media coverage seemed to hasten the action taken this week. The government, once again!, dropped the ball in caring for those it sacrifices to push ahead this hollow war.

Better than usual yes. they know no one wants to look at the uncomfortable any more so they rarely cause us to think hard thoughts, after all they want to sell us things, and people thinking about crippled vets needing care are less likely to buy a new Rolex or diamond , hummer what ever. the news is just there to get you to read the ads. the ads make the money.

The Bush administration appoints someone who will follow their policies and when those policies become open to the public as inhumane, the Bush Adm. fires someone as if he/she were to blame and not that their appointment had only been following orders.

No, the investigation was in the works before the media got to it, which is way the firing happened so quickly.....the media never gets anything right, haven't you learned that yet?

No, because those people came out of the situation with their dignity intact and everyone knows that the media should rip people a new a.ss hole.
