Sounds like an allergic reactrion...contact the doctor. Yes on the oatmeal bath...A+D oitment is great because it heals but also gives a protective barrier so that when they pee it doesn't burn.

If it is rash on on his butt then he is NOT allergic. Diarrhea is a common side effect from antibiotics. If he has no diarrhea and has a butt rash try any diaper rash cream w/ zinc oxide. Just make sure his skin is COMPLETELY dry before applying it, o/w it will trap the moisture under it. Let him air out as much as possible. Good idea to use plain water to clean him. Continue that too. You can do oatmeal or baking soda baths. If his rash seems bumpy it may be a yeast rash, which can be caused from antibiotics. That needs treatment w/ otc(over the counter) antifungal cream. If it is raw and bleeding you can also use a neosprin or similar to treat those areas. Good luck!

The best thing I ever found for diaper rash is Bag Balm (a small green metal can). It is wonderful!! My son had diarrhea for 6 weeks and was in bad shape (rash was actually bleeding) and this cleared his rash up super fast, like 2 days. My mom shared the trick and I tried it. It is actually used (or was used) primarily for cows utters when they were nursing calves. But has since become a house hold favorite! Good luck.

I don't think the amoxocilin has to do with it, but he could be allergic to the diapers. My children are/were allergic to white cloud diapers. They had the exact same problem as you are having, their rashes were so bad they were bleeding in less than a day..it got that bad...I had to take them to their dr who prescibed a cream called Nystatin..it worked miracles when nothing else worked the rash was gone in a little over a day. It's the only thing I use anymore..it's the rash miracle cream for me

Firstable discontinue the amoxicilin and ask the pediatritian for another antibiotic, like omnicef. My daughter also has a rash reaction when it comes to amoxicilin, what means that she is allergic to it, so her doctor change her to omnicef; after you change the antibiotic the rash will go by it self, you can try have him in light cotton cloth and well moistured.
Every kid react different but my daughter clear up her rash one to two days after the antibiotic change.

He may be allergic to the meds. so I would call the doctor. When my kids had bad diaper rash, I used a big glob of Vaseline on the wipe as this reduces the friction when you clean them up. Dont wipe hard on inflammed skin as it is painful. Vaseline is inexpensive and works very well to clean sore bottoms.

You have to ask the pharmacist for it but do not need a prescription or ask you doctor about nystatin it works great. they are both creams that you rum in and dont have to wipe off. My daughter does the same ting with any meds like amoxicillin because of the yeast

Checkwith the Dr. your son could be allergic to the meds. Otherwise, children can get yeast infections (thrush) form antibiotics same as adults can. The doctor may want to see the rash and prescribe nystatin as well to clear it up.

Contact your doctor this could be an allergic reaction to the meds. Oatmeal baths are good so is aloe vera gel. It cools, if you you have a plant you can take it directly from the plant.

Yes, give him an oatmeal bath, but it might sting for a while.
It's good that you aren't using baby wipes because they really hurt!
Give as much nappy free time as you can, and tomorrow, take him to the doctors for some hydrocortisone cream, or possibly Canesten.
