LISA P: I've been married for almost 6 years, and my wife took my last name, we never even discussed it.
I was just curious because so many woman I meet these days hyphenate.
It may be a geographical thing, we live in CA.
I applaud all the woman here who took there husbands last names, it's not "old fashioned" at all, it's the right thing to do.

I got married and took my husband's last name; now I"m getting divorced and changing my name back.
If I remarried I'd change to the new husband's last name, unless I was famous!

most new age ladies have not found it necessary to take their husband's last name anymore, neither does the man have to take ours, nor start a new lineage. I still use my own name
