Actually, yes, it COULD be appendicitis. It usually occurs in the right lower quadrant, but it can present on the left, too. It could be a cyst, or a kidney stone, or just a new kind of menstrual cramp. It could be a UTI, or STD, or it could be a number of things.
Do you have a walk-in clinic near you? I would look in the phone book for any local free/low-cost clinics, or urgent care facilities, and make a visit. Call an ask-a-nurse service, and see what they think. (1-800-888-5551 is the one I refer my patients to). If it gets to be unbearable, you are probably going to have to go to the emergency room, since you don't have a regular MD.
Good luck.

First of all the appendix is in the RIGHT side of the abdomen, so that could not be it. that kind of pain could be caused by any one of the organs in there being inflamed. the likelihood though, is that u have a cyst. i had the misfortune of having the same ongoing pain go on for about a month, from severe to barely noticeable, but most pain was near the period. it turned out that i had had a cyst. it ruptured but healed but my doc found that i had a couple of them on my ovaries. theyre really not serious but u have to find out for sure. just go to the er and say you have BAD pain. they have to do an ultrasound. i dont know if they will charge u but there is something that can be worked dout im sure. good luck.

My mom had her appendix removed and in all honesty, she dind't have any pain what-so-ever and the dr missed it durning her physical... then all of a sudden she was on her hands and knees in tears... it turned out that her appendix was perforated (she had to have surgery right away)....
I realise you don't have medical insurance but I would suggest if it doesn't get any better by later tonight, go to the hospital tomorrow morning and get checked out or a walk in clinic.
When you say medical insurance, I have to assume you're located in the states.... I live in Ontario Canada and here you have government coverage ($x amount per year)...
Good luck and I hope it's nothing serious

Yes, a few times. Of course, I'm not doctor, but for me, it turned out to be stomach-related and went away in about 5 days. It eased up in the meantime, though (got better and better, then went away). I have a lot of stomach problems, so probably it was trapped air. Here is something you could look at (see website below). See if you have a fever also to rule out possible appendicitis (not to scare you but, you know):

Maybe a cyst on your ovary? I've heard that's a common thing...That's what it sounds like to me. Sometimes you can get pain like that when you're ovulating, but if you're due for your period then I would think it's a cyst. A simple ultrasound can check and see if that's what it is.

Don't listen to anyone who says it might be appendicitis. With that, its so painful you can't walk and you puke everytime you move, trust me, I've had mine removed. That, and its on your right side.
See a gyno, you may have a cyst on your overy and it may need some fast attention

i've had something like that before. usually it meant i was ovulating but you said you're due to start. you could just call the doc or er and ask them if they know what it could be. it won't cost anything. feel better.

Look up epiploic appendagitis (not appendicitis). It's just one possibility.
