We're used to it. We do our own share of criticizing the rest of the world too, especially with our egocentric and imperialistic attitudes. :)

America sold us the weapons for the first world war, and we still owe them for it, we didn't pay them back as the stole our merchant shipping trade, and sat around for so long, only joining in in the last 12 year of the war, and they never formally joined the allies, but were responding to germany's sinking of thier shipping, which was busy stealing our merchant trade.

During world war two, they kept us alive with supplies, but tried to sit on the fence again. They joined in December 1942 - three years after it started in Europe, and eight years after Japan had invaded China. However, they did loan us a lot of money at very low interest rates to rebuild after the war - well they all ready had our merchant trade by then.

Helping us win the war is the past is no excuse for plunging the world into 50 years of paranoid cold war, and funding the majority of the 570 major conflicts which have happened since then.

America deserted us at the Suez crises, and shipped funds to Israel, which then invaded the middle east and caused the problems still going on there, still funded by american diollars.

Truman pushed McCarthy to far North in the Korean War, bringing China into the Arms race, and creating the despot who still dictates over North Korea.

Truman also started the Vietnam war, by helping the french take back thier colony after the war.,

They armed Saddam Hussain to get rid of the Iranians

The backed the taiban against the russians in Afghanistan.

they have supported the despots in central America for 20 years now, and they look certain toi start another major war in the middle east. They deservre thier critism!

while american help was incalculable in ww2 they didnt just save us. they saved them selves as germany by end of ww2 has almost finished a long range icbm capable of carrying a dirty bomb. america would have been 1 of there targets had we given up the fight.

there was a war game startegy done in the seventies with the german and british comanders (the alive ones) who would have commaneded all forces during operation sea lion and the accepted outcome was that the Nazi war machine would not have captured a lot of the uk and they after all they would have been repelled.

First of all America didn't save the world in the world wars, it was the combined efforts of many countries. And second of all, the US can be criticized because we are hipocritical and greedy. I am an American, and i love this country, but sometimes I see the hipocrasy for myself in plain sight

if old Adolf hadn't decided to go and fight on 2 fronts the germans may well have won but, as another answerer pointed out, it was probably the russians, who sacrificed 22 million people in ww11 who really helped out 'the west' in the War. All the american governments since have demonised them because of thier political beliefs............does this sound familiar?????????

They saved us to save themselves. They know for certain how was it like when Pearl Harbour was bombed. They also know how was it like when Hitler started to dominate Europe and Japan Asia. They know it is a matter of time when they had to get involved. They might had done the right thing, but they ain't angles.

America is the best country in the world. Look how many people are sneaking in to their country all the time. And the primitive muslims hate the country that is so far ahead of them... Europe owes their existence to that great country. You should all fall down and worship the USA. I pray that they succeed in shining their light into the dark corners so that the cockroaches can be exposed and eliminated.

I think the US did OK in WWI, as far as participation.

But WWII--I wouldn't say that dropping atomic bombs on Japan as "retaliation" and slapping innocent Japanese people in "internment camps" is noble. It's racist bullsh!t. We didn't help China when Japan was burning and raping and killing all up and down the place, even though they were supposed to be our friends. We waited until Japan dropped some bombs on Pearl Harbor and instead of retaliating in kind, we dropped nuclear bombs on them, which was a horribly devastating way to punish an enemy.

Plus, we were reluctant to help in Europe and we didn't stop "ethnic cleansing" in Haiti.

So I wouldn't say the US was all that great in WWII, no way. We helped some, but we committed our own war crimes, too.

We just didn't get prosecuted for them because we happened to win.

I wouldn't say we were quite as bad as the Nazis, but what we did to Japan was completely out of line, even in a massive war.

So I criticize the US when it needs it. It certainly does sometimes.
