Under Hitler Nazi Germany was the first nation to enact smoking bans.. As well as research on smoking there was much anti-smoking health promotion in Nazi Germany. The Hitler Youth and the League of German Girls disseminated anti-smoking propaganda, and in 1939 Hermann Göring issued a decree forbidding the military from smoking on the streets and during marches or brief off-duty periods. in 1942 the Federation of German Women launched a campaign against tobacco and alcohol misuse. Such campaigns were backed by legislation, and smoking was banned for both pupils and teachers in many schools. in 1943, tobacco use was outlawed in public places for anyone aged less than 18 years. It was considered criminal negligence if drivers were involved in crashes while smoking. In 1944 smoking was banned on trains and buses in cities. It was also prohibited in many workplaces, public buildings, hospitals, and rest homes. The advertising of smoking products was strictly controlled.

I am a Native woman. I don't support hitler in any way. Not at all, I think he was sick and evil and horribly cruel.
I do believe in increased smoking laws. I can't be around cigarette smoke without waking up the next day with a sore throat. I am highly allergic. I already have asthma and I can't afford any lung problems. It is my right to breath clean air MORE THAN it is someone's right to pollute it. It isn't equal rights here. If someone is hurting other people and the environment there should be restrictions (oh and i forgot hurting themself too).

Cripes.
Germany was the first to discover the link between smoking and cancer. America took a long time to even acknowledge that fact.
The United States used to ban alcohol, that was when America was more united and trying to set an example to the rest of the world.
German did however prescribe Methanphetamine for patients because they did not know the effects of the drug.
Drugs are often prescribed when it seems good.

Absolutely yes. I don't understand why people aren't afraid of this trend. Too many people are willing to let the government control their lives if it is done in the name of health, safety or " for the children". I worry that people are not going to wake up until our every move must be sanctioned. Then it will be too late to do anything about it. The word "encourage" has taken on a whole new meaning lately. What is happening to our country?

Thankfully, the US is following in my footsteps. While I personally find smoking to be digusting and vile, it is only a minor thing compared to the presence of so many jews within the states. If you wish to achieve glory like my 3rd Reich did, you must first declare war on the Jews and drive them out. Smoking bans can come later.

I don't see the connection. Over all smoking has social costs. As its unhealthy and kills. As an ex-smoker of 20 some years. I can not stand the smell of cigarettes. Should I be subjected to the stench? Even when I smoked, I wouldn't light up in a restaurant. Or around any nonsmokers. Toss my butts out the window or on the ground. The only over kill I see in your question. Criminal negligence if involved in an accident while driving? The rest makes some sense as it dose today.

Yes, we have almost got rid of all the smokers and then we are going to get rid of all the fat people. You have seen the start of the fat campaign. Then when we have got rid of all the fat people we are going to get rid of all the ugly people and when we have gotten rid of all the ugly people we are going to get rid of YOU. O-but you say that people will stand up for you but WHO did you stand up for? That's what happens when we start to take away peoples rights , even if it is the right to do something that may not be good for you.

It appears so. I think America is supposed to be the land of the free so Americans should be allowed to do as they please as long as it doesn't hurt others or put them in harms way.

Oh come on huh! Hitler also believed that children should engage in healthy physical activities. Are we supposed to make our children avoid exercise because Hitler approved of it?
