Why is that if you serve the military you barely get enough money to live on. You qualify for WICK and Food Stamp. We defend our country everyday yet don't make enough money to suport our familys.

They do not make enough money. I have a brother in law who just retired from the US Navy after 20 years of service I can't believe the paltry pension he receives for his time. He should be making at least double for what he has done. I am sure that all of the commanding officers are doing well and don't have to go begging for food stamps. Whatever active service men and women make is not enough.

Here's an idea: Let's allow the soldiers to make the money that the hollywood phonies that criticize them make. Let's let the soldiers make $20 Million per tour, while Sean Penn, Paris Hilton, etc. have to work 168 hours a week just to barely qualify for WIC, foodstamps, etc. That way, everyone will be getting EXACTLY what they deserve.

the war decorations /accessories just take most of the funds ,
sure the boys and girls dont get paid
but the sponsors do
dont know how to fix it neither bro
isnt it a rule when it [all the equipment of war]leaves home its written off ,they seem to apply the same rule to its own
but serving your country its a call you know will /can have a high price
what can we do to change it bro
we all know what the human life is worth
we seen the hospital care ,but its easy to get the money for those toys but not our kids
supporting families isnt as important as serving the company bottom line ,but the toys are fun though

i totally agree! when my husband was in the army (1999-2003), it was only by the grace of God that we made ends meet! how dare we send our brave men and women to iraq not even knowing if there family will be able to financially survive- like it's not hard enough!!!

I agree. Military pay is very low for what they are being asked to do.

I agree . They should make more , or as much as congressmen and senators .
I would bet one reason they don't - is because Democrats loathe them on general principle and would vote it down .
